Our Client :

One of the largest California state civil rights agency in the country receives and investigates discrimination complaints and handle employment, public accommodations and hate violence cases.

Challenge :

In an effort to enhance citizens engagements by improve its delivery of service to the public, support enhanced demands and increase program efficiencies, the Department required a self-service system that would enable the public to schedule intake appointments and obtain immediate right-to-sue letters over the web.

The objective of this initiative was to add new functionality to their website by providing the public with the ability to request a self-service intake appointment at one of the Department’s district offices.

The public was also required to have the ability to request and, in some cases, print a self-service immediate letter after responding to a series of questions to determine jurisdiction of a violation.

Mentis Solution :

In order to meet the program objective, Mentis developed and implemented a new modular, flexible web solution and streamlined business processes to support these demands and deliver improved business outcomes from a new online appointment system.

This project resulted in the new capabilities for the public seeking assistance
from department including :

  • Submit an Internet self-service request to schedule an intake appointment at one of the Department’s district offices,
  • Print an intake appointment confirmation letter, print a pre-complaint questionnaire,
  • Submit a self-service application for an immediate right-to-sue letter
  • Print an immediate right-to-sue letter.
